Our Chef

Luis Daniel Méndez Gori is the chef behind every dish that you can savor in this little piece of Italy in Georgia. Although carrying Italian descendants from Tuscany.

Luis was born in Valera, Venezuela. In a family of chefs, Luis grasped the art and commitment inherent in cooking from an early age. His mother, in particular, sowed the seed of a deep love for cooking, a passion that would later fully bloom. At the age of 19, he traveled to Italy to study Gregorian chant and perform with a choir across Europe. This experience ignited his admiration for Italian culture, especially
the intricacies of its gastronomy.

After several years, he returned to Venezuela and later immigrated to the United States, where he had the opportunity to pursue his career and passion for the culinary arts. He went back to Italy for specialized studies in pizzeria and bakery in Catania, Sicily, and completed culinary studies at the Culinary Art Institute in Florida, USA. With 19 years of experience working in restaurants as a chef and general manager, he became the expert mind behind menu design for various
entrepreneurs.

Now, he has decided to venture into his own culinary business, paying tribute to his Italian ancestors with both his palatable and entrepreneurial passions. Luis discovered that Atlanta was the ideal location to commence this new chapter, particularly with the invaluable support of his family, who are his fundamental pillar for this venture. Together, they opened the doors of BUCATINI RISTORANTE to offer artisanal Italian food in a modern and warm atmosphere, focused on extracting and utilizing the unique flavors of each ingredient that has made Italian cuisine the number one preference worldwide, under the slogan…
"Mangia fresco, mangia bene”
